Britain is advertising 250,000 jobs in the European Union despite unemployment at home

Britain is advertising 250,000 jobs to job seekers in the European Union creating more competition for unemployed people at home.

Around half the jobs advertised on a taxpayer funded EU website are in Britain, raising questions about the government***8217;s approach to unemployment.

By contrast France has advertised just 14,000 posts for other EU workers and seven countries - have put up so few that they do not register with the European Commission***8217;s EURES work programme.

EURES, the European job mobility portal, is the EU body that advertises British jobs to any EU worker.

The European Union provides grants for unemployed EU workers to get interviews and resettle in another EU country.

No such grant exists for workers in the UK to relocate to find work or get an interview.

The British jobs being advertised in Europe include department managers, general managers, finance and sales jobs, computing posts and clerking posts.

The huge disparity in job listings will fuel claims that the UK goes too far to go along with EU rules while other countries ignore them when they find it inconvenient.

    *CONFUSED*

Lets roll back 24 hours to before this thread was made:-

"Oy Mr Osbourne - how many fat unemployed people do we have in this country?"

    "That's 3,250,000"

"'Ere shit head how many FUP are they now?"

"That would be 3,000,000 presicly were advertising for jobs there fore there that many less fat unemployed people"

OFF TOPIC:- BUT MIGHT BE RELEVENT:-

"Our company MADE losses of ?250,000 this year"

"But you made a profit of ?1,000,000 last year and ?500,000 the year before - why is that?"

"Well we was expecting our third year of trading to make ?1,500,000 but we only made ?1,250,000 - therefore we have lost ?250,000 - so we are filing for bankrupcy"

    Yeah whatever

Biggest problem is that the UK education is not good enough most of the jobs are highly skilled
and most of the highly skilled in UK are working .With UK education gone from 8th in the world down to 28th
in the last 20 years it will only get worse

Does it make sense, when govt allow most people to come in UK for further education with no restrictions in order to educate the world?..?

I just thought it was interesting that the EU provides grants for unemployed people, but not for UK citizens. Also, France can only find 14,000 jobs to advertise on the EURES website. Maybe it is the case that France is only restricting job advertisements of a skilled nature, whereas the UK advertises both skilled & unskilled. Unless I can find another explanation France's government seem to be a lot more clever in realising they only want to attract needed skilled workers...

Clear as day mate. Because Ingland is surranded by water the only way to access is by air or sea both methods are very expensive, so the Frogench end up with the sodding forgeiners trying to get on a boat or plane for free.

They have go SOOOO fed up with "I don't want to pay anything" and "how much discount can i have" they have just told everybody who is NOT skilled, brain surgeon, sparky, doctor etc etc to simply FRO

Typical Daily Mail quote with no link and no evidence to back it's assertions up.

On this occasion I have to agree with Bob that if the vacancies aren't being filled because the unemployed of the UK aren't skilled enough - the unemployed need to get more education and a better more focused skill set. Taking a course in "David Beckham studies" at Staffordshire University" will not get you a job. In the meantime those jobs will go to those that can meet the criteria.
