Woolwich: Help For Heroes Rejects EDL Cash

The Help for Heroes charity has said it will not accept money raised by English Defence League (EDL) leader Tommy Robinson.

A Just Giving website page which Mr Robinson, who also uses the name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, set up after last week's murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich was shut down after talks between administrators and the forces charity.

Before it was closed down more than ?3,300 had been pledged to the EDL leader, who said he was planning a 17-mile sponsored walk from Westminster to the scene of the killing "to lay a wreath in support of our troops".

More than 1,000 far-right EDL supporters had earlier gathered outside Downing Street chanting "Muslim killers off our streets" and "There's only one Lee Rigby".

I think they should accept EDL donations, after all they do care for the forces, donation comes from blood money, drug dealers why not EDL.

I think to lose the racist stigma these groups need to change how they operate. So instead of being against a group of people, and are trying to highlight the actions of a particular sect of people, they should instead create a new religion. This religion shall have a book written by a man who claims to be a representative of God. This God has told this man that any person who does not believe in him, or follow the teachings of such book, should be forced to leave the country they are in and deported back to a country where their beliefs are upheld.

Only when this is done will these people lose the term "racist" and then become religous radicals and fanatics...which appears to be more acceptable to the masses.

I can see why they not taken it, they are a charity and being painted with a bad reputation can hurt a charity

Islam is an open racist organization. They hate Gay's, Women, Any other Religion especially Jews. Should i go on with the list? I'll be here all day. The EDL is only pointing out the obvious. Maybe their method is a little counter productive but atleast someone is speaking up. Thats the problem with the left around the world they call you a racist and bigot if you don't agree with them.
