Let's look at everything but the real reason

MPs have launched an inquiry into the trade in smuggled tobacco.
The Home Affairs Committee will look at the scale of the problem in the UK and what can be done to tackle it.
Chairman, Labour MP Keith Vaz, said the UK had one of the highest rates of tobacco duty in the EU, making it a lucrative market for smugglers.
He said duty was evaded on nearly one cigarette in 10 and more than a third of all hand-rolling tobacco, costing the taxpayer nearly ?2bn a year.

The committee's remit will also cover:
    • whether the current sanctions and penalties for tobacco smuggling are appropriate
    • similarities and differences in tobacco smuggling patterns in the UK and Ireland
    • the implications of restrictions on the National Crime Agency that prevent it from carrying out police operations or recruiting agents in Northern Ireland
    • the relationship between tobacco smuggling, organised crime and paramilitary activity

BBC News - MPs announce tobacco smuggling inquiry

So they'll look at every reason *but* the reason that tobacco is smuggled - the fking tax is too high, even my rabbit could work that out, and we're paying these people how much to dance around their handbags??? Want to stop smuggling, then lower the price to a price that makes smuggling non profitable ffs thick batsewards.

      I might just do that

If as they claim, they are trying to get people to quit smoking then what's their beef with lost revenue? If they got their so called way they'd have no revenue anyway. However the plan as usual is, since we all know only the poor smoke, to tax the poor more and more and not worry how many of them die anyway. Money before lives as usual...... bunch of kin bigots and liars

You notice that it's about smuggling but doesn't mention alcohol?

          Strange eh when you consider:

Alcohol is cheaper smuggle din from France
It tastes the same as UK alcohol - so duty doesn't add to the taste
It's as bad for you, and if you're a driver, it's bad for other people
          It's a drug

However they don't mention any problem with smuggling alcohol, so that means smuggling it is ok?

Ban smoking and alcohol, then we can all be miserable tw@'s and be the drones that employers want 24/7 with no sickness
