Can Labour really win the next election with Ed Miliband?

So, while there is perhaps an element of mid-term blues about the poll scores - could Labour really win the next election?

Labour are 11% ahead of the Conservatives, according to an Observer poll at the weekend.

despite his party's lead, Ed Mliband remains well behind David Cameron according to the approval ratings.

And, perhaps more importantly, can they win with Ed Miliband in charge? If not, what is the alternative? Tell us your views using the comment section below

They are virtually the same party nowadays

They may disagree a lot but they all change little

Politics is just pure BS, Its simply about staying in power and getting elected or re-elected

To get elected you need to please people ( or be the best of a bad lot as it seems we are unable to vote them all out)

To please a majority you need a common ground, which is why the leading parties sit virtually the same side of the fence

At the minute i agree with the cons more over labour

Spend within your means, Labour seem a little more intent on building things that dont need building just to create a false economy. As if new school wall will teach your kid better or a new hospital room will make you recover better. Largely there is nothing wrong with the old, its the staff that teach and nurse not the building

Building council homes is now seen as a must, it will create jobs, yes it will short term then after you will have even more households on housing benefit and more immigrants then before you know it flat economy and bust again with a much larger welfare bill and money to pay off. In my area they just knock perfectly good sound council houses down for no reason, again its not the bricks and mortar its the people they put in them

Half my estate is knocked down another 3 in the area are the same, they move the tenants about in the hope they dont drag their next area into the gutter and then use the land to build more houses (private and housing associations) in place of the perfectly good homes they left

Its a pointless exercise and total waste of cash as ever with the hospitals, the schools and the run down estates its the people who make them good or bad not the ****in walls

Seems to me that meaningful education and further education appears to be missing. No wonder people can't apply for real jobs if they're busy wasting money at university getting a degree in stupidness that has no bearing on real life, unless you want to become an MP of course, otherwise the unemployed will continue to do so, the students will join them on the dole once they have finished college/university and they'll all sit and complain that the immigrants are taking 'their' jobs like they have a god given right to demand a job just because they went to university and learnt (read on the internet) some f'king idiotic subject.

MP's are on the take and what's in it for them no matter which party. They all make half truths they'll never keep anyway just to get votes. I'm just disillusioned with the whole f'king lot of them really. *shrug*

That's one of many. Just seems a waste to be able to say they have a degree in something entirely useless in the real world.

Never mind the budget of April 2015 will be a budget of lower PAYE tax and amnesia so everyone can forget we''ll have had 5 years of cuts and still the national debt is rising at a fantastic rate

A Rubber Band would be as much help as Milliband, anyhow the politicians are only in it for themselves so it really doesn't matter who's in government as far as the ordinary guy in the street is concerned as he will always be the one who gets shafted !!

Milliband will only win the next election if the Unions tell him he can.
