Humans have used up the natural resources the Earth can provide for the year and are now in "overdraft", campaigners have warned.

The world has reached "earth overshoot day", the point in the year that humans have exhausted supplies such as land, trees and fish and outstripped the planet's annual capacity to absorb waste products including carbon dioxide.

For the rest of the year, the world is in ecological debt, with fish stocks and forests being depleted, land degraded and carbon dioxide building up in the atmosphere, the Global Footprint

So this world footprint group of tree huggers, have they counted every fish in the sea? Have they studied the CO2 absorption rate in every plant & tree, taken into account every gram produced by the oceans?

Or is it just guess work based on a headline grabbing wish list?

The campaigners says we have already run out of fish, forest trees, and our population already in starvation they suggest our world is at the critical stage and there is no reverse formula when our atmosphere going to rise carbon dioxide rise and less oxygen and it is now a worrying time and it does not help when some countries deposits nuclear waist in the oceans this indicates we are not bothered to help recover our planet and we can see our fish stock has disappeared!!!!!!!!

I think you misunderstand their dribble.

There are still fish in the sea, there is still air to breathe, I still have a wicked itch on my nads...no matter how much I scratch. And I can still see several trees from where I'm sitting.

To make it easier for you... There argument is based on a tank of diesel in a car. That diesel has to last the year, but 7 months into the year, we've used it all. So now we're going overdrawn in our bank account to refill it early.

The problem is, they make this argument without knowing the balance in the account.

If it were in overdraft the banks would be straight on you adding charges to your account daily. The Earth and it's inhabitants have been here far longer than us, and will be around long after - unless we kill them all of course. Sounds like the tree huggers have realised that the gravy train similar to that of "climate change" is the way to obtain large grants for finding ways to prove that they need larger grants to keep them in cash while actually proving nothing. That and the media has nothing to report at this time of year apart from crap.

It's called climate change now. Biggest reason being global cooling (predicted in the 1970's) failed to appear, global warming (predicted by the same people who predicted cooling in the 1970's) also failed to appear, so climate change which is constantly happening anyway is now the cash cow words of choice.

Well climate change is happening every minute of the day, so they can't be wrong can they - all the predictions they're making. They must be really good because they can't even get the weather right for the next 1/2 day let alone the last effing 10,000 years or the next 100. Guesswork at best. I predict the Arctic Ice will melt - it will happen because we're still coming out of an Ice Age, which means that the whole planet is warmer because it's not in an ice age - it means ice effing melts *doh*

Yes Gaston but you don't get your 10 million quid cos you didn't come up with the explanation -Well global temperatures aren't rising at the level we predicted, cos you'd never guess we overlooked the ocean's are acting as a heat sink absorbing the increase in temperature we predicted so global warming is still happening its just that you can't measure it?
So whoever came up with that answer get a 10 million bonus but should hand back his Phd for failing GCSE physics! *doh*
