There are 240 schools in England where over 90% of students speak English as a second language, according to official figures ****ysed by Sky News.

In the last academic year, Department of Education census figures reveal five primary schools in England had no native speakers, with 100% of their pupils speaking English as a second language.

Sky News has visited one of the five schools - the Sacred Heart Primary School in Tipton, West Midlands - which has since admitted three native speakers.

Staff at the primary school believe they have a winning formula for teaching children from a diverse community.

English is the second language for 95% of the school's 128 pupils - the vast majority of them with parents from Pakistan or Bangladesh.

Occasionally, says Ms Gee, they need to bring in an interpreter which stretches the budget. But she maintains that it never compromises the running of the school.

These schools shouldn't exist.. There shouldn't be religious schools other than that of the church of England.. Any other religious school should be banned. They're there to learn not to pray all pissing day and read a damn book over and over backwards.. then you get those boys pissing about with platting their side burns with the mothers curlers!

A lot of truth in that, but I don't think it's money that's the problem, as much as piss-poor modern teaching methods.

A recent study showed that the older generation of Britons are now more literate and numerate than their children and grandchildren.

Throwing money at the problem isn't the answer.

The headline and the insinuations of languages other than English being spoken in school are for the consumption of dopey people who want to blame other people for their own shortcomings and inadequacies. Having English as a second language only means you learned it after another language. Plenty of these kids will be more proficient in English even with it being a second language.

Part agreed they can speak English but can not write or understand, for example most can not fill immigration forms, spelling very poor, we live in UK we should be proud of our English language and they should do more!!!!!!!
