Mysterious "unkillable" computer virus could be new kind of cyberweapon

A researcher and his team have battled the infection for three years - and believe it spreads using sound, so it can infect machines nearby.

Some where in a Russian computer lab lurks a computer virus so deadly, so indestructible that it can spread even when machines are disconnected from Wi-Fi - or power cables.

A researcher and his team have battled the infection for three years - and seen it infect Macs and PCs, and return even once machines have been wiped.

Dragos Ruiu calls it ?BadBIOS?, and claims that it is ?the tip of the warhead? - a new type of cyberweapon, which he believes spreads by sound.

It can infect PCs or Macs with equal ease.

British tech site The Register are a little more sceptical, describing it as The Loch Ness Monster of computer viruses.

Err hang on, why haven't we had this cut and paste story 3 years ago?

So no microphone, fine, but no power?

OK, get a pc from off site, remove the battery out the bios, leave in that room, then see if it gets hit?

So what does it do, stop you viewing DK?

I'm with The Register on this.

Sounds like a load of Kung Phooey.
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

            Rumor states modified utility programme.

Rumor states back in 1991/92 or before, some Skool teacher in Wales, caught a virus, that was 'harmless' he modifiyed it
so it popped up, hello, please contact me, see how far this got.

Turned out when he did the conversion it because REAL nasty and the Skool was getting nasty Tweets about it.

I'd come across a computer virus caught from users sandwich, you see the wrong sort of crumbs can play havoc with the program when the crumbs stick all the keys except the #';;#'##'][[/ isn't that how windows was created
