hmm all mps are good at is talking pish, hmmm think i should be one , what should happen is their wages reduced to a "working mans" wages, somethnig like minimum wage to 10 tokens an hour, they can still claim normal expenses, travel accomodation etc like normal peeps can, lets see how many of them would stay in the job.

How many of the great thinkers of the past been self educated ? More than you would think I bet

Guess I wasn't the only one showing teachers how to use IT packages. I had to show your business studies teacher how to use every bit of software she ever got.

Even the 'educated' leaving school now have no idea. They're not shown how to think & use their brains, they just get an education in how to pass exams.

Then there are the employers that want intelligent staff that can solve problems. But also don't want them to question operation procedures.
The amount of arguments I've been in with management from several jobs is unreal. I have a brain & can find better ways to do things...but my quicker more efficient way goes against their training....muppets.

This thread about education is hilarious. Your and you're are apparently the same word and spelling in general all over the internet is terrible. Very often the most knowledgeable are the ones most guilty of bad spelling.

It's also has people with poor grammar skills who use inappropriate adverbs to describe others spelling levels.

Tbf I thought I had used the incorrect adverb but i'm happy to be picked up on it to get it right in the future. My point is the common use of your instead of you're and there instead of their or they're. These simple things are so much more important than people think they are. If I was reading a CV and someone used either of those examples incorrectly, I wouldn't read any further. This countries education system seems to think that content is more important than spelling and punctuation.

Sorry to point this out DigitalVandal but "This countries education system seems to think that content is more important than spelling and punctuation." should actually be "This Country's Education System".
Another big punctuation problem is the dismissal of the coma, which can completely change the context and meaning of a sentence.

Thank you. I'm pleased I now know that. I wish those who spell and punctuate massively wrongly would accept criticism as happily. As it's been pointed out I'm not perfect, but if everyone could at least do the basics right then it'd make the world of difference.

I know what you mean DigitalVandal, as an instance of where the comma is omitted................"I watched a programme about strangers having sex with my parents last night" that is a bit different to "I watched a programme about strangers having sex, with my parents last night"
Same sentence but completely different meanings.
