Parts of Britain 'unrecognisable' due to immigration: UKIP leader

Parts of Britain have become "unrecognisable" due to mass immigration, the leader of the eurosceptic UK Independence Party told activists in a rallying cry ahead of European elections in May.

Nigel Farage, speaking at UKIP's spring conference in Torquay on Friday, claimed the opening the UK's borders to migrants from new EU members in eastern Europe had damaged social cohesion across the country.

Farage said that the issue would dominate the vote on May 22, when his party will seek to increase their current tally of nine European members of parliament.

"Eighty percent of us in this country believe open door immigration is irresponsible, against the interests of the people in this country and that it must stop," he told the annual conference.

The same as parts of Spain and Ibiza with the Brits. It is a shame as I like to visit countries, see their culture and live by their laws but now Britain is turning into a Mongrel society with little to define it by.

The free movement of people within the EU are not immigrants any more but the problem is that the brains behind the idea failed to realise it would be one way traffic from east to west.

The point is that those from Poland aren't immigrants, they are EU workers exercising their rights under the 1968 agreement (and successive agreements signed up to by UK governments), that Ted signed up to, to work in an EU member country - just as people from the UK can go to Poland and work if they wish - or any other EU country for that matter. Immigrants would be those that come from outside the EU. Perhaps it's time people learnt a bit of the Polish lingo, at least then you'd know if they were busy insulting you or offering you the winning lottery numbers
