Ed Miliband says Britain's future is in Europe

Ed Miliband has ruled out an In-Out referendum on Europe if Labour win the next election, unless the country is asked to transfer more powers to Brussels. Sky's Sophy Ridge reports.

I think he's done the right thing, rather than make a promise to hold a referendum 'if they win'. I'm still waiting for someone from UKIP to answer me, they've failed so far:

"We know exactly what it costs to stay in the EU, can you tell me the cost to the people and the economy of the UK if we left?"

I won't hold my breath waiting for an answer since they don't seem to know or care, and neither do the that just follow them.... *shrug* I'll ask a Tory MP the next time I happen to be in the same building.

Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.

My local MP isn't busy attempting to deflect attention away from their abysmal management of the debt that they've managed to double despite cutting spending by promising to give me a vote on leaving the EU without telling me how much it will cost. They know better than that. I meant I'll ask the next ahole MP that I meet, and I do meet a few now and again.

I don't believe any of the three party leaders will take any notice of the wishes of the British people, they are all well known for not keeping promises they make.

Well therein lies the problem. Both parties will be busy making promises at election time, just hoping that they can scrape in and claim that the policies no-one took notice of (because never ask or look, too dazzled like rabbits in headlights bowing at the feet of anyone who even promises something they think they want - usually not explaining the cost) are what the people want, because they people voted for them. It matters not that 99% of their policies are lies and total shit because "well the people voted for us". The fact that people probably voted for the lesser of 2 evils (I don't even count the Libs as a serious party tbh) despite both being sh*t have nothing to do with it, we don't really get a say in the election - we have to either vote for one bunch of tossers or the other bunch of w@nkers simply because if all the electorate, except 1 voted then we'd end up with the party that 1 person voted for.

So it's vote for one bunch of tw@'s or teh other bunch of tw@s next year.

                        GastonJ Esquire..

I do believe the loss to the UK is 3 million EU dependent jobs.. (not sure what these are!) The loss to the EU if the UK left is estimated at 4 million jobs. Nobody would be able to answer what the true cost of leaving would be financially.

                        FUN FACT!

The Lisbon Treaty stipulates that the EU must make a trade agreement with a country which leaves the EU. So to say the UK will be excluded to trade tariffs is nonsense....

                        FUN Fact

Official Swiss government figures conclude that through their trade agreements with the EU, the Swiss pay the EU under 600 million Swiss Francs a year, but enjoy virtually free access to the EU market. The Swiss have estimated that full EU membership would cost Switzerland net payments of 3.4 billion Swiss francs a year.

The Lisbon Treaty stipulates that the EU must make a trade agreement with a country which leaves the EU. So to say the UK will be excluded to trade tariffs is nonsense....
Doesn't say that they *must* since what would they do if the country leaving decided they didn't want to? So no it doesn't say must, nor does it say that there would be no tariffs. Would you like a link so you can read the treaty yourself, or do you believe what so called politicians and paid mouths say?

Nobody would be able to answer what the true cost of leaving would be financially.
So if they can't say how much it will cost how can they quantify the benefit (except to their own pockets) to the UK. Very quick to say how much it costs to stay in the EU but no idea the cost of leaving either financially or the impact on jobs. Perhaps they're bankers, or w@nkers at the very least. So you'd be happy to foot a bill of say ?45 billion yourself for leaving the EU then ? Please vote for this and we'll let you know what it cost in 10 years..... well done.

As for the jobs that will be lost they are from the direct investment from the EU in projects in the UK.

So you'd vote to leave based on

Not knowing the cost financially to the taxpayer
Not knowing the impact to the country economically
Not knowing the cost to jobs
