Maybe that's a question Maggie will be able to answer for you, but I do seem to recall that back then the Tories had this thing about unemployment being a price worth paying for a free market. In other words she didn't give a ck as long as money was made by them and their ilk ... just as the Tory party now doesn't give a ck. That's why they don't mind everyone else making sacrifices on their behalf.

I think russia should be left to its own devices.. Let it have ukraine.. infact let it have mainland europe..

I saw yesterday on RT news that people where suffering in russia because of the economic sanctions..

One problem was that shoppers where unable to use credit cards for shopping because they where using visa and mastercard (american)..

I see this as a bonus.. if im not alowed to use my card.. im not allowed to pay my statement because of the sanctions.. the credit card company would get told ter ferk orf!!

Russia doesnt need the west.. it could survive using chinese equivalents..

The EU however is playing a dangerous game.. which atm isnt too bad because its close to summer but come winter, russia could turn the tap off on the gas and freeze us.. We couldnt do a thing about it as we have no means of warming our houses with coal anymore.. The nazis did it to denmark albeit with food but its the same concept.. the allies begged the nazis to broker a deal! the kremlin can turn this around and grab more land!!

Sanctions are not against the population, only targeted politicians & military leadership.

One of Russia's main sources of income is from their exported fuel. If they turn it off, they lose desperately need funds. Then the population will suffer.

They won't turn it off, just as we won't refuse to buy it. That's why Putin isn't worried tbh, he knows we need the resources that Russia provide and if we don't buy the resources China will.
