Isn't the whole environmental movement all about money. About the plastic bags. They want you to use reusable bags but if you don't wash them after carrying meat you can get sick and die. Government needs to stay out of private business.

Meanwhile there is a secret agreement being made & voted on, which if made into law, would give big business the power to sue governments if they passed laws that reduced their profits/income.

In effect, big businesses would tell governments what to do.

It's pretty much like that now. But with the new powers things would become a whole lot worse for the people.

I went to the supermarcat in salou the other day, i bought some lays crisps, chocolate and a bottle of absinth the bloke said "la bolsa" i said uno as you do.. he then said 3c.. I swiftly removed the items from the bag and gave it him back..

I must of looked daft walking down the road with crisp, chocolate and a bottle of absinth

now im back in the uk i use boxes instead of bags.. equally damaging to the planet (supposedly)...

im in hungary next week, bags there cost 20 forint

Plans to exempt biodegradable plastic bags from a new 5p charge - which comes into effect in England in October 2015 - have been dropped.
It comes after fears they would contaminate the plastics recycling process and confuse shoppers.
But customers of smaller shops will still escape the 5p charge.
The government has rejected calls by the Environmental Audit Committee to include all retailers - not just supermarkets and major stores - in it.
The committee has warned that this will put England out of step with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, where all plastic bags are, or will be, included in a charging scheme.

The cross-party group of MPs says allowing so many retailers to escape the charge will limit the environmental benefits of the policy.

What they mean is escape being taxed in the name of being "green" even though the tax is nothing to do with being "green" (other than making people now when they say it) and more for raising money from anywhere they can. Desperate government fund raising.

so when plaggy bags are banned what are you gunna put your shite in ? a lot of peeps use supermarket bags to put their shite in, so now they will be buying more black bin bags to put their shite in, so we will have the same prob getting rid of the black bin bags as we have with the supermarket bags, so the gov will make money from the sale of black bin bags, and they will force the price up of them

It's not about the revenue from not only the sale (saves the government giving money to charities) or the VAT that the government is adding on either, honestly

As for the house garbage, you can either just dump garbage directly into your wheely bins or use a very good quality stainless steel indoor bin, one that when its closed its closed and no smell etc, thats what we have, but most of the time we will make sure to dump really wiffy stuff straight into the outdoor wheely bins etc, you would get lots of flies if you didnt obviously.

If you dont have a back n front door house then a good indoor bin is only option unless you can be botherd with emptying it a couple of times a day into the main bins for the flats your in.

Overall, I guess if you just try and keep on top of rubbish then its not a big problem, either way, thats not what supermarket carrier bags were ever intended for anyway, LOL

edit : Black bin liners are all enviroment safe, or at least the ones in major super markets are anyway, from what I heard they can only sell ones like that, plus we always needed black bin liners anyway, you cant exactly just stick any old filthy rubbish into any bins or else the things would need washed out every day man, I thought that was pretty obvious, no ? Well maybe not I suppose if you share a main bin with other flats etc, thats different.
