    Driverless Cars

The UK government has announced that driverless cars will be allowed on public roads from January next year.
It also invited cities to compete to host one of three trials of the tech, which would start at the same time.
In addition, ministers ordered a review of the UK's road regulations to provide appropriate guidelines.
The Department for Transport had originally pledged to let self-driving cars be trialled on public roads by the end of 2013.
Business Secretary Vince Cable revealed the details of the new plan at a research facility belonging to Mira, an automotive engineering firm based in the Midlands.
"Today's announcement will see driverless cars take to our streets in less than six months, putting us at the forefront of this transformational technology and opening up new opportunities for our economy and society," he said.

Only a few questions on this really....

    No driver = no insurance?
    No driver = no license?
No driver = can we all get pished and let the car drive and not get stopped?
Who gets sued when an accident occurs?
If these are automatic then no speeding taxation, where will the government make money from speeding cars?

I can see this is well thought out so far *shrug*
My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.

Might be a good idea. As long as meat head isn't servicing them.

It'll be grand. Driverless cars don't have a side facing foo foo valve.

A Georgia man has been arrested for drunk driving after he told deputies his dog drove him to the store to buy some corn, you can still get done without being on the wheel.

Tools owned: Hammer, Chisel, Crowbar, Punch, Chainsaw, Cutter and Brain!!!

Did you know People will question all the good things they hear about you but believe all the bad without a second thought.

Its a real clammy govt failure! let them bring the driverless rules I can then see every speeding ticket and other offence being challenged.
No officer I wasn't in charge of the car! The electronics took over control. Its already been proven that a cars ECU can be hacked to effect steering, brakes and ignition, so with this law change it would shift the responsibility to proving if you were in charge of the car at the time of the incident. So now cars can legally drive themselves your not responsible
All we need now is a ECU remap hack to indicate car is self driving.......all the time!!

Driverless cars are coming to Direland in 2016 but the fact that they have no driver on board means that they will have to use the right hand side of the road for six months.

                    Should be fun.

Will a driverless car tow another? That will be a friendly car.

NO its more likely a driverless car will shunt a driver controlled car of the road for being a danger to other drivers. It will be a new H&S policy "to make roads safer"! you mark my words?

What are they being guided by? If it's satellites then they are not 100% as they lose signal daily and in heavy atmospheric conditions are we going to have masts put up everywhere? And who is fronting the cost? Sure these things can be made to work in a controlled enviroment but on a saturday night when meaty comes out of pub falls over what then mayhem f**^^%%"""!!!fs My teacher told me years ago there would be flying cars by 2000 and we believed that crap then.
