Why wont they test drive them in larger cities with all the road works and one way systems constantly changing. There is only one way these will work on their own purpose built routes with no traffic problems or road works and controlled enviroment another waste of money just like the APT 125 years ago. If you had perfect roads and everything was remote then maybe so it will never happen.

Driverless cars will certainly make it easier to bring the UK to a standstill. If a small hack can make it so that Jeep have to do a recall in the US, then imagine what a network wide hack would do. Sorry officer my car was speeding because of a trojan virus, my cars operating system crashed and so did the car..... All good stuff, develop and implement before thinking of the consequences, I see that on a weekly basis
