Calais to be offered 9ft-high Nato Summit steel security fence to deter migrants

Ministers have approved giving Calais the 9ft-high "Ring of Steel" security fence that had been used at the Nato Summit, to help tackle the issue of migrants seeking to illegally board ferries and trucks bound for the UK.

The Home Office?s Immigration Minister, James Brokenshire, confirmed that tomorrow the UK is going to offer its "French partners" the fence as a replacement to the "inadequate fencing" the port currently has, which is "too easy for illegal immigrants to scale".

Writing in the Daily Telegraph, he said that authorities would also ?like to establish secure parking areas where legitimate hauliers and travellers can wait without being hassled by would-be illegal immigrants.?

Two impenetrable steel walls were constructed to provide security at the convergence of world leaders at the two-day Nato Summit this week.

Bet the French don't accept, way too many advantages to letting the illegals smuggle themselves on board lorries, including

1) The illegals are no longer in France so where's the problem?
2) The French won't have to pay the illegals anything by way of aid
3) English lorry drivers are fined if they get stowaways, so it costs France nothing and English companies 'lose' money as a result
4) It won't be a French problem if they make it over the channel, it's a UK problem

SJ, as well as those reasons I gave above for the French not accepting the French your'e missing the bigger picture here.

If there were no illegal immigrants

1) Who would those right wing parties blame for the country being broke, surely you don't mean their policies have failed while they continually make glib promises they won't keep?
2) Who would those long term unemployed (those who don't really want to work and vote for the parties above) be able to blame for their failure to gain employment because they can't be bothered to work?
3) There'd be no right wing rhetoric from so called populist parties (those without a clue how to run a country, but keep making glib statements and false promises they don't have a clue how to keep) who want to fill their pockets with tax payers money while discussing bongo bongo land.....

So to enable those 3 groups of people above to continue their way of life, think of those poor little souls, and the French will agree I'm sure - we need to ensure that illegal immigration continues as it does.

I have a more permanent solution. But if the over sensitive liberals got upset with Cameron using the word 'Swarm', then this will give them a heart attack.....

Increase the depth of the security zone, say about 500yds, with high security fencing on both sides... but with manned 30cal machine guns running the full length with interlocking fields of fire & a shoot to kill policy. Anyone entering the security zone does so at their own risk. Just clear away the bodies & parts with armored bulldozers.

I'll take first watch on the post with the highest number of attempted breakthroughs.

If you kill everyone that tries to 'run the gauntlet', their numbers will dwindle & less of them will try to enter the country.
