    Nice distraction from domestic problems

The UK Parliament has backed British participation in air strikes against Islamic State extremists in Iraq.
After a seven-hour debate, MPs voted for military action by 524 votes to 43.
The Conservatives, Lib Dems and Labour leaderships all backed air strikes although some MPs expressed concerns about where it would lead and the prospect of future engagement in Syria.
The BBC's political editor Nick Robinson said RAF planes could be called into action as early as Sunday.
Speaking after the vote, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said a long campaign lay ahead and there would not be a "series of immediate hits".
He told the BBC the priority would be to stop the "slaughter of civilians" in Iraq and the UK and its allies would continue to be guided by Iraqi and Kurdish intelligence in identifying targets.

But they won't be hitting IS in Syria, so it's ok for IS to kill Syrian civilians then eh? I see the double standards are in place as usual. One would also ask whether Iraq was paying for this, or would they be expecting a country that is over a trillion pounds in debt and can't afford hospitals to treat it's own sick to foot the bill instead? e.g. you and I. It's so good to see tax money and the money save form cuts to services being used wisely. War mongering seems to work as a way of avoiding domestic problems it seems and best of all it's free

He went off to live on a moon base with Elvis of course. As for Dave the second hand car salesman he's hoping that it will make him hero of the hour and so popular that the people he works for, joe public, will forget the last 4 years of cuts so he could help his mates get richer while standing on the heads of those less fortunate in society. Not that any mp or party is any better, just that I have a dislike for the Tories anyway...... The do as I say, not do as I do party. I just wonder how he thinks getting the uk involved in matters that don't concern him will make him more electable, there must be some real sh@t news being released quietly around now that will be overshadowed. Now would be a good time to award serco, atos and g4s the security contract for Iraq at least then we'd be rid of them and save getting involved.

Ok our parliament’s decisions to fight without the public debate; we have to put up with the rise of the tax payments and every thing goes up food, petrol, and the govt is still arming the Syrian rebels, for god sake get the hell out of there and lets live in peace….

Parliament would argue that they were elected to represent us and our views and so they are put there so we don't have a public debate. That's why Dave says he "knows what the public wants", although if he ever met one of the public he'd probably be wiping it off the sole of his shoe. It is worrying that he said that he reserved the right to go into Syria without referring back to Parliament, sounds like he just wants to go in anyway to try make a name for himself. I have many names for him, best I can get away with on here is tw@

Millions of ordinary people could have walked the streets in protest at this, just as they did when we illegally invaded Iraq. It matters not a jot as these mp's are so out of touch they will do what THEYwant and not give a **** about the repercussions.
