?Wheelchair? fraudster and benefits cheat jailed for ?120,000 con

A BENEFITS cheat who scammed ?120,000 in state handouts and tricked an 88-year-old woman out of ?7,500 has been jailed.

David Williams, 34, claimed he was wheelchair-bound but was fit enough to climb on to roofs to install TV aerials and satellite dishes, a court heard.

While he was working, the father-of-five charged Mair Jones, now deceased, for a fuse box he never fitted ? and used the money to buy a new van, Liverpool Crown Court was told.

Williams, of Liverpool, was sentenced to three years and three months.

The court heard that over eight years, Williams milked the state claiming incapacity benefitand top-up working tax credits.

Judge Dennis Watson said he also ?callously and cynically? lied that two of his children were disabled to claim benefits.

After his ?wicked con trick? on Ms Jones, she lost trust in anyone calling at her home.

The judge said: ?She lived the last year of her life without opening the door.

"The impact of the offence accelerated the decline in her health.?

Twenty-one stone Williams appeared in court on a mobility scooter and pleaded guilty to 10 fraud-related offences.

He has previous convictions for fraud.

Will we be charging him ?105 a day for room and board, or are we expected to pay for that as well. Might have known Daily (comic) Express as being the source. Find 1/2 dozen morons who cheat the state to justify punishing those who really do need state help. *shrug*

Well in this case you can partly blame govment, before giving out Wonga.com ALL cases should be checked.

Ok like an electric meter "emergency credit". ?30 instant no questions asked, beyond that, you need to bring all your disabled family members to top of tallest building in town.
