and allowed to preach their hate of the west and freedom(which is our way) with the police and government pretty much powerless to act. under the guise of European rights of speech laws.
The government can ban anyone form anywhere in the world from coming here, they've been able to since the law was changed in 2005. There is a list of banned people. Though as usual the government don't publicise that they can do it, because telling everyone that the EU is stopping them grabs more headlines.

Going back to your farmer friend, perhaps he should look at growing other crops? *if* the rest of the EU raised prices, so that a UK farmer could produce them for the same price, then surely Joe Public in the UK would be expected to pay more. Maybe he's in the wrong business, or needs to review things and grow those goods where he will make a profit without expecting the price to rise for consumers because he isn't running a streamlined business?

you miss my point they may be able to ban ANYONE from coming here but our borders are so porous they are incapable of doing so, and once they are here its too late, they then pull the EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS CARD and we have them for many years to come. and it costs millions to deport them. great eh

as for the farmer he now grows rapeseed for oil to power his tractors not really what farming was intended for.

There are certain restrictions on types of crops to be grown and incentives to leave fields fallow, this is to help the poorer EU countries grow their crops without competition and so in fact they are more or less "price fixing".
Another misuse of our farms is the growing of straw crops to be stockpiled and kept for years under the heading of Energy Companies Emergency Fuel, you will see the "Haystacks" all across the country that have been left to either self ignite or rot.
Farmers are forced to search for the best financial option, instead of growing the crops they are best at growing or rearing the stocks they are best at.

And the UK borders being so porous will not change if we leave the EU. The staffing of borders is well within the control of the UK government. If they choose not to provide the resources to monitor our borders then that is their choice.

If I set up a company making widgets and to produce them cost more than widgets from other countries, I have 3 choices (4 if you're American) 1. Make them cheaper. 2. Sell at a loss, hoping to put the competition out of business. 3. Make something else. where I can make a profit.

Now as rds60h pointed out this could be to help out other countries in the EU so it's price fixing. However if those same goods are available from outside the EU even cheaper, say China, then the only option for the EU is to impose import tariffs to make 'external' prices higher. It saves 'dumping' of overproduction. So if we left he EU, do you not think that we would be treat the same? If the EU do not impose the tariffs globally then China, or whoever, would be straight to the WTO with a complaint and a very good basis for a case.

we all have different ideas for different scenarios, one thing is for sure largely because of UKIP there will be a referendum and the people will decide.

For me I would want that free market in Europe stays, but whole euro parliament would be dissolved. Every country are paying huge amount of money, just to support some bunch of usless MEPs. This money could be spend for more urgent needs.
