    Volkswagen drivers won't pay higher road tax if their cars are fitted with 'cheat swi



    W drivers will avoid higher road tax even if their cars are fitted with illegal software to cheat emission tests, the Government has confirmed.

    Volkswagen has admitted 11 million of its diesel vehicles worldwide have the programs that can fiddle results.

    British officials are retesting vehicles to compare laboratory claims with what really happens on the road.

    The amount drivers pay in road tax depends on their vehicle?s CO2 output.

    Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin said: ?Our priority is to protect the public and give them confidence in diesel tests.

      Why is he wearing @networkrail hivis

      If you have an oil burning heater you get to pay ?100/year for licence to goverment for doing nothing.

      Should be at least ?100 invoice

          I wonder how you notice a networkrail working for vw, could have bought that jacked in the car boot!!!

              Your road tax will go up, and probably get a bill for unpayed tax due to VW's cheating.

                  if you brought a gun that was by law limited to "setting a" but INFACT it was "setting z" which means it can
                  cut down entire firrest one bullet are you liable prisicution?

                  if your motor bike by law limited to 30mph but goes 70 are you liable prisicution ?

                          It will be harder for someone trying to sue for losses with gov getting into bed with vw when they should be taken to task. Why am I paying a high road tax put mine down as well. The real reason they don't give a toss about the enviroment it's all about those and such and greasing the palms. All the cars should be retested and graded accordingly. They are doing the garages out of a boon as well.
