A British tourist, urgently in need of medical care in the UK, is being held by authorities in Dubai until he pays a ?100,000 bill for car hire.
Charles Goldstein, 38, wanted to hire a 4X4 with a friend to drive into the desert. Instead, he was given a luxury sports car.
Charles claims UAE officials stopped him leaving the country in March after the hire company accused him of wrecking the car.
His situation went from bad to worse when his temporary prosthetic gave way and he fell, shattering his remaining leg in eight places.

Coming to Dubai was the worst decision I've made in my whole life.
Losing my leg was nothing compared to this, I would give my other one in a heartbeat if it meant that I could go home.
But that's honestly not the case, I've spent my entire life's savings waiting here, I have lost everything.

He was arrested at border control at the Dubai airport where he was ordered to pay a ?900 fine and then escorted to Al Barsha Police Station.
Charles went to pay the fine, but was told he had to pay it directly to car company who claim he ruined the Audi R8 they lent him.
But the businessman from Chelsea believes he was targeted because he looks wealthy so the company could get him to pay for the already damaged sports car.
Charles has been forced to live off the generosity of his friends and family because police confiscated his passport.
