How the historic Paris deal over climate change was finally agreed

The summit had been at risk of stalling before the US and the EU sprung a surprise move. Then, after three all-night sessions, decades of failure were reversed and a historic agreement reached

After more than 20 years of abject failure to agree a new global climate deal, rich and poor countries had agreed to differ and had finally adopted 31 pages of dense, legal text which, just possibly, could set the world on a different, cleaner safer, energy path.

When 150 heads of state pledged two weeks ago in Paris to forge a new climate deal, it seemed certain they would make history where decades of tortuous UN climate talks had failed.

The summit had been at risk of stalling before the US and the EU sprung a surprise move. Then, after three all-night sessions, decades of failure were reversed and a historic agreement reached

load of until america and china sorts itself out pollution wise nothing will change, america keeps selling petrol at 60 odd cents a ltr and has thrown everything into shale oil so they can keep selling it cheap and their population can keep driving big eff off motors, until petrol/diesel is taken out of the equation nothing will change.

The agreement basically bans the use of Fossil Fuels, Gas and oil over the next 20 years. So what do we do to heat our homes?

Whether the US do anything or not, the UK government will be rubbing it's hands with glee. All UK governments have long believed that the best way to reduce the use of fossil fuels is to add on more tax to raise prices and make it less affordable to the public. You didn't seriously think that the public wouldn't pay through the nose for it did you?

M t glass mate, hope you didn't vote on my behalf to ban fossil fuels?

So in layman terms we have say 100 years of fossil fuels left, or solar/nuclear.

bit like walking into a shop with an envelope stuffed full of cash, naturally you use barcleycard Bof!

Every single car in the world make up less than 20% of all pollution in the world. Climate change is all about money. The science behind it skeptical. The Planet hasn't warmed for 20 years. The ice cap has been adding ice the last 3 years. These are facts. Everything the global warming nuts say will happen 50 to 100 years from now. What will you replace fossil fuel with? Wind and Solar? Just ask the Germans how that is working out. The price of electric has gone up 10 fold and they burn now twice as much coal and oil to make up for the short comings of wind and solar. All the global warming nuts are doing is making basic necessities like electric and gasoline too expensive for the middle and lower class to afford. The rich will just pay what it takes in the form of a bull~~~~ carbon credit like Al gore and the rest of the global warming nuts. The world would be a better place if you would vote out these global warming nuts out of office.
