    School calls for boozing ban

and the kids will grow up just like them !

TEACHERS are demanding a ban on drinking in the street — to stop parents from boozing as they drop their kids off in the MORNING.

Horrified staff were stunned to see mums and dad swigging from cans of lager as early as 8.30am as they walked their youngsters to school in Barnsley.
They asked them not to drink in the playground, but that just resulted in piles of cans and bottles being left at Doncaster Road Primary's school gate.
Now the South Yorkshire school, with the backing of local cops, is asking the council to impose a ban on drinking on the street in the surrounding area.
One parent with a child at the primary, said: "It is appalling behaviour. What sort of message does it send out to the kids?

"But there again, some of the parents act as if they never attended a single lesson themselves when they were young so what hope is there?"
Teachers have complained that parents drinking on the school run are undermining their efforts to spell out the dangers of alcohol to the youngsters.
But their complaints have fallen on deaf ears and some parents continue to booze on the way to school and also when they collect their kids at the end of the day.
School support worker Lisa Hutton said: "On many occasions I have had to ask parents or carers not to bring alcohol on to the school premises.
"This has resulted in alcohol being left on the roadside or on the school wall.
"This all makes it increasingly difficult for us to educate the children about the dangers of alcohol as children are assuming it is okay to drink alcohol excessively and that it is appropriate to drink on the streets."
Chairman of the governors Arthur Mitchell added: "I have seen kids being dropped off and picked up from school with adults drinking from cans.
"It is both dads and mums. We have been aware of the situation for some time.
"We welcome the proposed ban both for the sake of the school and the local residents.
"Our biggest concern is how the police will implement it but we hope it is a success.
"Quite a few of the parents around here seem to like a tipple in the morning. I think it keeps them going for the day.
"I have seen them drinking from cans as early as 8.30am outside the school and then again in the afternoon as they pick up their kids.
"I'm sure most parents would be staggered by this but 85 per cent of our pupils come from the immediate catchment area which is classed as an area of deprivation.
"It doesn't come as a surprise to those of us who have lived in the area for a long time.
"If kids keep seeing adults drinking then they will follow suit. It needs to be stopped.
"It has been reported to the police and we would welcome the order to ban drinking on the streets or anything that tackles alcohol abuse."
Ricky Delamere, 37, who has a six-year-old boy at the school, said: "I have seen parents walking up and down the pavement outside the school with drinks.
"I once saw a man and a woman each with a can of lager in their hand on their way to collect their kid from the school.
"It's not every day, it happens more in the summer. But it is ridiculous and it is a good thing they are going to bring this drinking ban in.
"The parents I see are just your typical idiots with a can of lager. Why can't they leave their drinks at home on the kitchen table?"
The council's licensing board will decide whether to introduce the drink ban next week.
If it is brought in it will mean cops can confiscate drink from anyone who is boozing on the streets near the school and persistent offenders will be fined ?500.
Sergeant Keith Baird said: "The order would allow police to tackle the problem. It will make street drinking illegal.
"It is in response to concerns and complaints from the community about bad behaviour linked to drinking in the street.
"There was overwhelming support from local residents and councillors.

This behaviour doesn't surprise me. Each generation appears to get worse than the previous one. Some of the parents of today dont bring their kids up they drag them up. They don't teach them manners and leave them behind when they go on holidays.

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
