I think the government should be as concerned about the rights of individuals than just government officials... In that, I wouldn't speak to or serve anyone wearing a mask, with just their eyes showing, because I find it offensive... where that would place me legally I just don't know and thankfully I've never had to test it.

This idea that migrants living in UK should speak english is just plain stupid though

Naahhh, Britain is a member of the EU, 28 country membership, where all different languages are spoken... so I don't think anyone should be discriminated against because of their language. It's as silly as stating that UK will only trade with countries where their main language is English Tories wouldn't like that one

seems common sense to me that if some one wants to settle in another country they should try to learn the language, tho not compulsory, if i wanted to live in say spain i would try to learn spanish, or how would i talk to the people that live there ? etc, there is a lot of resentment in this country with all the immigrants/ migrants etc coming into the uk atm, racism is probably at an all time high here, if every one that wanted to live here made an effort it would go a long way to stopping it.

Yeah, I’d be the same if I went to live in another country, I’d want to learn the local language... I’ve always said if I moved to England, I’d need to learn to speak English so the locals could understand me... Just like this thread, don’t know wtf yer all talking about noo

Having lived in spain and learned a little bit of the lingo I found it helps you integrate better and even to the extent of getting better prices/deals from wholesalers ect. But the flip side is that I and people like me were the rarity. Most Brits who live over there speak only english......although they do speak it a bit louder when someone spanish claims to be unable to understand....Works both ways this integration lark and us brits can be just as good/bad at it as anyone else.

that way you can take your grandkids abroad on vacation.
