The force?s actions came days after Home Secretary Theresa May launched an independent probe into Sharia law in Britain.
It was set up to tackle growing fears the councils, also known as courts, are turning a blind eye to domestic violence.

West Yorks Police said it had ?thoroughly investigated? both complaints but no crimes were recorded and no arrests were made.
A spokesman said: ?It is not a common practice.
?We recognise them only for matters that are not for the police.?
Tory MP Philip Davies said: ?The police shouldn?t be advising people to go to Sharia councils at all, particularly when women have come with sensitive issues.?
There are believed to be around 85 Sharia councils in Britain.
They are used to settle disputes according to Islamic belief, but have no basis in UK law.
A total 27 crime reports from 2013 to 2015 mention Sharia.
