Homeless man asked for change - and instead was given job for the day in random act of kindness by painters

The contractors were painting wall when man wanted money, so they handed him a paint brush and put him to work - after they'd asked him if he'd been drinking

He was spotted in Manchester?s Northern Quarter helping out the men as they worked on a building on Copperas Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Darren Wheatcroft, who sent in the snaps, said the homeless man had asked a passer-by for some change, and was very polite when he was told the man didn?t have anything to give him.

Not quite as easy as that, very few private landlords will accept anyone on benefits and those that do charge excessive rent which will not be covered by housing benefit. As for Council/Social housing firstly do not have housing available to home these people and secondly many will be classed as having made themselves homeless (this includes cases such as having to move out of the family home because of divorce). Strangely moving from Eastern Europe and stating that you did not have a property there seems to be accepted by some Councils, yet they make deep searches and require previous 3 years bank statements from British Nationals.
