Labour 'Encouraged Mass Immigration To UK'

Labour ministers deliberately encouraged mass immigration to diversify Britain over the past decade, a former Downing Street adviser has claimed.

Neather says Labour kept the policy quiet for fear of alienating voters

Andrew Neather said the mass influx of migrant workers seen in recent years was not the result of a mistake or miscalculation, but rather a policy the party preferred not to reveal to its core voters.
He said the strategy was intended to fill gaps in the labour market and make the UK more multicultural at the same time as scoring political points against the Opposition.
Neather worked as a speechwriter for tony blair and in the Home Office for jack straw and David Blunkett.

    Tony Blair wanted mass migration

"Mass migration was the way that the Government was going to make the UK truly multicultural," he wrote in in the London Evening Standard.
"I remember coming away from some discussions with the clear sense that the policy was intended - even if it wasn't its main purpose - to rub the Right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date."
On the BBC's Question Time programme, Jack Straw faced questions about whether the policy has played a part in the rise in popularity of the BNP.
Nick Griffin on his appearance on the BBC show

Mr Neather dismisses that argument, saying that the policy has "enriched" the UK and made London a more attractive and diverse city.
Critics have been quick to accuse the government of creating an "immigration conspiracy" and introduced mass immigration to Britain for "cynical" political reasons.
Sir Andrew Green, chairman of think tank Migrationwatch UK, said: "Many have long suspected that mass immigration under Labour was not a cock-up but also a conspiracy, they were right."
Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman Chris Huhne said: "If this is true it is deeply shocking that the Government can have taken such significant decisions without public debate and public consultation.
"The essence of good decision-making in a democracy seems to have been ignored.
"Legal migration has undoubtedly brought great benefits to this country by attracting skills and talents from all over the world, but the shambolic control of our borders over the last 10 years has left a legacy of illegal migration which creates social tensions."

Maybe we should be worrying about the Labour Government -- who do not seem particularly interested in what we think anyway -- instead of the B.N.P. ???

By recruiting only the talent from other countries is that not another 'ism' Elitism.

If British industry paid a decent wage, dividend, bonuses etc we would not need to import labour from anywhere. The shambles falls on the greed of indrustry to squeeze every penny out of the proletariat.

Mods, please change the colour of the flag to red.

If you catch news about the UK from other parts of the world they are saying that the UK is fast becoming a muslim state, or words to that effect. Never gets mentioned on our side of the pond.

Regarding the immigration thing, obviously done on purpose, but for what ends I don't know - but it does mean that employers can, will and do take immigrants on as cheap labour which isn't particularly fair for them to be undercutting us but it's their prerogative. The point is they come over here from all parts of the world to this tiny island with bad weather and we all know why, it's just too many are bothered about being branded a racist so they don't directly say it but the fact is we shouldn't even be in this position. No other country is apart from us and that speaks volumes.

Also about worrying about Labour instead of BNP, true but Labour's already done it's damage in all fairness - another person to watch out for is Rupert "my paper, my tv stations = my news" Murdoch.

The workers were needed and were a nessesity to aid the bubble we were living in for the past nine years (longer really). I had trouble with many English lads who refused to work for an honest days living and were more than happy with a life on benefits as ?7.50-?8.50/hour for labour work was too little to get them out of bed.

I guess we've become so lethargic living our over indulgent lives on credit, it was only natural that outside workers would be needed to make up the shortfalls in the lower end of the labour market.

True, but the question is are there more British lads on benefits (and on as many benefits) as the immigrants coming in ? Speaking of which how many of the immigrants nigh on killing themselves to get over here in droves are simply coming over to work when they can claim asylum and benefits as soon as they step off the boat and get treated almost as good as royalty ?

It's not just about the British people on the dole, because frankly a lot of people are on the dole now because they are better off....and it's the same for the majority of immigrants coming in too and that's why there's so many busting a gut to get here - nobody's going to tell me they're all that desperate to come here just for work.

didnt the uk sign an act in the eu to allow all immigrants into this country with no limits .. then the rest of Europe pulled out

the French have alot to answer to ..

“Try England”: that is the advice being given by French police to aspiring immigrants in the refugee camp near Calais known as “the Jungle”, which they are preparing to close down. The United Nations, to which Britain is a major financial contributor, has reopened an advice centre in Calais on UK immigration law which had been shut down in 2002, after the closure of the Sangatte camp, and which acts as a magnet for migrants.

It seems the world and his dog are collaborating to tear open Britain’s already notoriously porous borders and irrevocably alter our demography by decanting unlimited numbers of the world’s least productive population into this crowded island. Last June, 2,000 protesters from the No Borders group – some of them British – clashed with French riot police in Calais as they demanded the abolition of all immigration controls. The mayor of Calais has denounced Britain’s “lax asylum system and benefits culture” as the cause of the influx of migrants into the town.

There is an hysteria abroad that seeks to make Britain the repository of all the world’s voluntarily displaced persons. There were around 1,500 economic migrants in “the Jungle”, but the French authorities have given them so much advance warning of the coming closure of the camp, there may be no more than 300 now. The large majority of them are Afghans. That is a particularly provocative aspect of this latest assault on our borders.

If there is one nationality of migrant that should be totally unacceptable in this country, it is Afghans. That they should seek opportunistic residence here while our soldiers are dying in increasing numbers to try to stabilise the country they have abandoned is an outrage. It epitomises the extent to which Britain has become the world’s patsy. So does the enforced and extravagant change in our demography over which both major political parties have presided during the past 40 years.

The whole issue of immigration needs to be addressed urgently and radically. The prohibition imposed on debating the most fundamental issue in British society through the politically correct gag of “racism” has finally crumbled. That red herring will no longer work, in the face of the crisis that now confronts us. We need a moratorium on immigration, derogation from all EU laws that deny us control of our borders, an abolition of endless legal appeal processes and a vigorous programme of deportation of all illegals.

Nothing less will suffice. The public also has to be alert to the weasel ability of the liberal/left to exploit even crises of their own manufacture to promote further objectives: in this case it is the dishonest claim that immigrants target Britain because we do not have identity cards. Nonsense. They target Britain because of our soft-touch benefits system. The supposedly “desperate” inmates of “the Jungle” could easily settle in France, but we offer a cushier dependency culture. How much longer are we going to allow the whole world to walk over us?

Does any country in it's right mind let the "enemy" in during war time ? Did we let the German people in during that war ? I don't think so, you don't let the enemy in during war time, that's suicidal and beyond stupid! If some people see that as a racist comment I don't really care because we're living in dangerous times with dangerous people and there is a war going on and in war there's no place for political correctness or bleeding hearts. You'll get murdered at the slightest show of weakness, that's the way the world is at the sharp end. You give an inch and you get taken for a ride. The fact is there's a war going on and we're letting the enemy in with open arms....it is what it is. Madness.
