TONY Blair has hinted at a sensational return to politics to ?save? Britain from a one-party Tory state.
The current choice between a Hard-Brexit Conservative Government and a Labour party wanting to take Britain back to the Sixties was a ?tragedy?, the former PM told Esquire.
He insisted the centre ground of British politics had not yet been defeated.
And intriguingly, he added: ?I don?t know if there?s a role for me. There?s a limit to what I want to say about my own position at this moment.
?Do I feel strong about it? Yes, I do. Am I very motivated by that? Yes. Where do I go from here? That?s an open question.?
The interview comes just days after Mr Blair announced he was winding down his controversial business structures and donate its ?8 million of reserves to his charity work.
In his interview he refuses to attack Jeremy Corbyn personally but savages Labour for believing action on the street was as important as action in Parliament.
He said: ?In the UK at the moment you?ve got a one party state. When you put it all together [taking into account that the Conservative leader wasn?t elected] there?s something seriously wrong.
?Frankly it?s a tragedy for British politics if the choice before the country is a Conservative government going for a hard Brexit and an ultra-left Labour Party that believes in a set of policies that takes us back to the Sixties.?
