Golf star Tiger Woods injured in car accident

Woods has been at the top of the profession for many years

World number one golfer Tiger Woods has been hurt in a car accident in Florida, his office has confirmed.
Initial reports said he had been seriously injured, but his agent Mark Steinberg later told US TV station CNBC that Woods was "fine".
A local mayor said Woods had been treated for facial lacerations.
The golfer's car reportedly struck a fire hydrant and tree as he pulled out of the driveway of his home, according to local media reports.
Associated Press news agency, quoting the Florida Highway Patrol, says an inquiry into the crash is under way.

Aerial footage shows the tree it is believed was struck in the accident

The story was initially reported by the Orlando Sentinel newspaper, which also cited the Florida Highway Patrol.
An official was quoted as saying the accident, which happened at 0225 local time (0725 GMT), was not alcohol related.
The airbags in the car did not deploy during the crash, the reports said, which would suggest a low speed of impact.
Woods owns a property in the suburb of Isleworth, an exclusive area near Orlando.
    Shock at news
BBC Golf correspondent Ian Carter says the golf world was in shock as news of the accident emerged.
Currently the world number one, Woods has won 14 major titles.
    TIGER WOODS
Born Eldrick Woods in December 1975 in Cypress, California
First major title in 1997, less than a year after turning professional
Winner of 71 official PGA tour events, including 14 majors
Described as world's most marketable athlete, sponsorship deals with GM, Nike and others

But after his last title, the US Open, in 2008, he disappeared from view to undergo reconstructive knee surgery. He has since made a triumphant comeback on the US professional circuit.
He is known for his strong desire for privacy, preferring to comment in public only on his sport, our correspondent adds.
He has become an international sporting icon since winning his first major in 1997 at the age of 21.

                  Big Payout????

Now, ordinarily the wife of a high-profile man would need to be getting divorced to get his hands on his cash.

But not Elin Nordegren. According to the Daily Beast, Tiger is set to pay Elin $5 million upfront... to stay with him.

And not only that. The couple's prenup is reportedly being hastily revised to offer Elin $55 million if she agrees to remain his wife for two more years.

Apparently, a lawyer familiar with the negotiations has upped the original cash agreement from $20 million and shortened it to seven years from the day of marriage... leaving Elin with only two more years to go if she accepts.

To be fair $55 million is more than likely a drop in the ocean for Tiger, but even so... Elin must be some woman.

think i will get my claim in before she gets the lot
