This must have been a WHISTLE blower from inside an American chicken farm has revealed the horror conditions the birds are kept in, first it was chlorine-rinsed chicken. Now the Americans want to get another culinary delicacy into UK supermarkets - hormone-pumped beef.
Hormonal beef and chlorine chicken could be coming to UK if trade deal with US goes ahead, Asda and Tesco the us markets.
No more meat for me this was the last thing in my mind!!!

Doesn't appear to be a problem for the UK government, desperate to make any deal possible as long as they get a deal, who cares what Joe Public eats.

Liam Fox is so anxious to get some sort of trade deal to supply enough post-Brexit food to Britain that he's willing to let this crap in.

The fallout from that disastrous vote last June is going from bad to worse.
He who laughs last probably didn't get the joke.

Totally agree with you nara but some thing just don’t add up a small country like UK hasn’t got the resources to provide meat and chicken for all our citizen what are the farmers up to when meat and chicken is available in all state of us and have got more for other countries, our govt should look into and not find the easy solution, now wonder more people are on dole….

It's one of those wonderful trade deals that the government were telling you about. Surely you don't think that the government would put the population at risk just to suit their own agenda do you?

A government that doesn't give a flying f*ck about the population? No, never. Don't be silly.

At least it's some consolation to know that the idiots who voted for these toerags are going to suffer with the rest of us.

I'm no lover of American chicken but don't forget that nearly 70 percent of UK reared chicken sold in supermarkets is infected with antibiotic resistant E-coli.
Probably the US chicken has the same bacteria infection, hence the reason they chlorine wash the carcases.
The UK chicken industry has still a long way to go before I would handle our home reared raw chicken.

They wash mainly to remove salmonella and campylobacter. The reason the EU doesn't allow chlorine washing is that it's a disincentive to using proper hygiene practice.

Raise chickens at home then, or move to Japan which is one of the few places on earth where it's safe to handle shop bought chicken. The UK chicken industry is no different from most of the rest of the world.
