If your MOT certificate has expired, you are ONLY allowed to drive your car to and from an MOT test centre.
If you get stopped by the police, you will need to be able to prove that you have a pre-booked MOT appointment.
You can be fined up to £2,500, banned from driving and get three penalty points for driving a car deemed to be in a dangerous condition.
