California:
John Lindstein has filed a complaint against the Church of Scientology alleging that he was kept as a "virtual slave" from the age of eight with little sleep, long hours and no holidays. He is seeking wages for the hours he worked.
At Gold Ranch, a church property ESE of LA, he says he worked while he was surrounded by razor wire, surveillance, and guards, with three daily roll calls. Escape was punished with hard manual labor. From 16 he was paid $50/week to restore Hubbard's films.
Lindstein claims that while he and others lived like slaves, church leader David Miscavige lived like royalty. Since he got out he has been billed for Scientology training and declared an enemy of Scientology. The church declined to comment.
