I saw in the Metro that they'd like to invade other countries. Call me a cynic, but it seems like they just want to overthrow another countrie's government and make a new puppet government as they have done in the past. And, why now in the recession and not before? I like the idea that as countries get richer, it means that there is more of a chance to trade, however the cynic in me says that the US will just go to war with another country to overthrow their government, proclaim its evil, and then start trading with that country

It's all about the oil and the money, not to mention the threat to perceived super power. America think they're this global super power that's above all other countries but it'll be interesting when China throw themselves into the mix. There's no way the USA and China won't be going to war eventually, China are getting far too efficient with regards to raw materials and expertise and the USA have far too big of an ego. Combustable elements to say the least.....I know, I'm just full of Christmas cheer!

China doesnt need to go to war with the US.
They own just under 25% of the states (23.25% currently) all that China would need to do is pull out its investments and the entire country's economy (which at this point is already circling the bowl) would collapse entirely.

Especialy if they double teamed with the Japs (who happen to own 21.13%)

If both pulled out simultaneously theres absoloutly no way the US could recover from a loss of 44.38%, the US couldnt even afford to police its streets from the ensuing riots never mind fund any kind of war.

The UK only has an invested interest of 6 or so percent.

Suffice it to say War isnt an option for the US when it comes to MAJOR investors, its akin to biting the hand that feeds you, especialy when projections show that the national debt will be greater than the gross domestic product by 2011, effectively meaning your country cant produce enough to pay off its massive debts.

This is why big business has so much sway in the states, without big business then the US would effectively disolve, its bad news when the foreign devils own more of your land than the citizens do.

Not that its surprising, China have been playing this game since the dawn of mankind, they like to plan in terms of CENTURIES while us western plebs seem to only think as far ahead as political terms (4yrs) Hong Kong is a very good example of this, sure we'll let the UK have some of our swamp and in just over a hundred years when its actualy worth a damn we will get it back

Lets not remember the arabs also own about 10% or so. Then again, I suppose their puppet government would go to war, allied with America and fight China and probably lose. I found it amazing also that when I saw how many countries sent soldiers to Afghanistan and it was about ten! I mean, why do you need ten countries to pledge their soldiers to invade one little country, who their residents keep saying that the Taliban were better than their police. Granted, the Taliban arent good either, but they were better than their local police, yet the US uses the excuse that they are going to invade this poor country because they are going to wipe out the Taliban. Sure, there are Taliban terrorists, no doubt, but the real thing the US cant get at is the resources. Why did the US not invade Ireland during the IRA bombings?

Funny, I was just thinking that the other day. The Roman empire collapsed by rebellions within the empire, and getting into little spats. In other words, they bullied smaller countries as the Americans are doing now. Smaller countries eventually do not like this and WILL attack back. Oh and even the Americans arent even loyal to their country anymore. Bush was expecting people to be dancing on the streets when he invaded Iraq, but only the minority did. Obama's not much different, but he effectively brainwashes the American people that have voted him in

I have to admit I really like the way the Chinese government do things, they seemingly keep to themselves and don't get involved too much and yet they get on with sorting out their own backyard on the quiet and before you know it BOOM filthy rich and filthy resourceful - not like America who seem to be all mouth, considering all the wars they probably instigate when was the last time they won a war again ? They've had about 3 wars in the last 40 years and not won any of them. Chances are they started all 3 wars as well. But it's not about winning the war, that's of the least consequence, what it's really about is the money the war itself generates.

Like I said, the cynic in me says as Metro said they want to go to war with more countries, overthrow their government, say the country's evil, replace it with a puppet government and bring in extra cash. Some countries are puppets already, or maybe just scared like India and Pakistan. They are however forming their own trap. As more countries get richer, the short term consequences, well there arent much, but in the long term, they could get richer than you and you could no longer be the superpower. Just like people say China and India are the next world's superpowers.

The U.S is a super power for the moment but soon it will be just a country like the others
the next super power will be China, India and then Europe(mainly France and Germany as England is the muppet of the U.S)
and I think more and more countries will drop from the u.s as they are angry of the American policy.
And I am glad that France and Germany refused to go to war with the U.S against Iraq!
that proved the U.S are not that strong any more and their power might fall soon!!!
