Hurricane Ophelia getting STRONGER as 100mph storm barrels towards Britain bringing travel chaos and fears of 'Mayhem Monday'
Forecasters predict winds will top 80mph as the tropical storm batters Britain after two days of unseasonably hot weather

Forecasters have warned of a 'Mayhem Monday' when Hurricane Ophelia hits the UK - 30 years after 1987's devastating Great Storm.

It has been upgraded to a Category 2 storm as it travels across the Atlantic, with sustained wind speeds of 100mph.

Gusts of more than 80mph will put lives in danger, the Met Office has said, with the storm due to reach the west coast of Britain on Monday. It is predicted to cause two days of chaos.

RAC spokesman Simon Williams said: “It looks like ‘Mayhem Monday.’ With very strong gusts forecast, motorists should expect trees and debris on roads and wind buffeting vehicles. Take extra care.”

Daily Mirror eh? So may be true, had it been the Mail, Express or Sun I'd have taken no notice and expected blistering sun and 30 degree temperatures all week.

But on the plus side, if they were made 100 years ago, and withstood the one in 1987, then there's no reason to be worried. On the plus side it's bought a nice warm sunny streak in from the Caribbean before

Good idea Meaty reserve the goods now collect after the storm is over if your trolley hasn't been in a CPA (Like a RTA but in a Car Park)
