Switzerland millionaire hit by record speed fine

The tycoon was reportedly driving a Ferrari 57km/h (35mph) over the limit

A Swiss millionaire has been handed down a record speeding fine of $290,000 (?180,000) by a court.
The man was reportedly caught driving a red Ferrari Testarossa at 137km/h (85mph) through a village.
The penalty was calculated based on the unnamed motorist's wealth - assessed by the court as $22.7m (?14.1m) - and because he was a repeat offender.
It is more than double Switzerland's previous record speeding fine - handed to a Porsche driver in Zurich in 2008.
In the latest case, the motorist was clocked speeding 57km/h (35mph) faster than the limit, according to the cantonal court in St Gallen, eastern Switzerland.
"The accused ignored elementary traffic rules with a powerful vehicle out of a pure desire for speed," the court said in its judgement.
Swiss media reported that the man owns a villa with five luxury cars, including the Ferrari.

That's not a Testarosa. It's a Ferrari 599 GTB (gmb?) Fiorano... I got two of them in the garage.

I wasn't sure what it was at first, but I knew it weren't a testarosa, The Testarosa was what Sonny and that other coont in Miami Vice drove around in. Tubs, . No socks, suit, with rolled up sleeves... what a tw@t!

Got a great app on my fone now, 'Google Goggles'. Took a photo of the pic of the car, and it instantly told me what car it was, and what website the pic is from.

I heard, and i supoose i shoulda done a 5 second google search first, that they were driving about in a kit car, probably this one. And ferrari got embarrassed and gave em a couple of testarosas to use instead.
And I chose this pic coz of the socks mainly. or lack of.

I think one of the Scandanavian countries operate a similar fining system based on your wealth if memory serves me well. Me thinks it`s fairer,

They did it here for a little while, but it was easy to dodge, I went to court and said I was on the dole( I wasn't, but they never checked), so they fined me the minumum per point, about a fiver per point if I remember right.
Don't quote me, but I am sure it went from ?5 to ?95 per point. This would of been back in about 1991 ish.
I think I ended up with a ?90 fine or so, better than ?1700.
