A non vote is taken as a person being content with the way things are.

IE: no one votes then the current party stays in power.
He who laughs last thinks slowest.

Youll always get the party affiliated crowd who, no matter what shit is thrown at them by the party, to turn out and vote like moronic robots.

correct. and candidates and their families will always vote for themselves. Furthermore everybody who suppsorts one of the smaller parties (BNP, UKIP, Green etc) will go out and vote.

Makes the case for a "None of the above" option on ballot papers.

it's idiots like you who let people like the BNP get in. There are now already 2 BNP MEPs so don't tell me it will never happen, it already has. Like I said in my earlier post all BNP supporters will go and and vote - that much you can guarantee. They rely on muppets like you not voting for other parties which lets them get in. If you want to vote for the BNP then that's your choice, but by voting for nobody, then they get in by someone else's choice. If you don't want them in then do your bit to keep them out by voting for someone else.

Don't try and give me any "my vote won't make a difference" bullshit either. very rarely is the turnout at an election over 50%. If the non-voters could get off their arses they would make a hell of a difference.

quite simple.. if you don't vote then you have no right to complain about any political issue that affects this country..

apathy and ignorance is why people don't vote

I am perfectly happy that ignorant people don't vote. To think that ignorant people can have a say on who runs the country is a scary thing. It's apathy that bothers me.

if that's what you think then yes it does. First of all, what you have to do is look at how many of them have got in trouble with the law over their expenses. A grand totla of 4. That's from over 600 MPs, so it is not even 1%. I accept that there are a few more who haven't had charges brought against them for lack of evidence, but the vast majority of MPs who have been asked to pay money back were claiming within the rules and they only have to pay the money back for political reasons.

If you genuinely feel so strongly that all who stand for election are a waste of space, then stand for election yourself, or are you also a dis-honest crooked bastard? How often have you bothered to look into the background of your parliamentary candidates to find out about all their thieverous and dishonest acts? Or do you assume that because 4 people have been charged with false accounting that each one of the 600+ elected members is dishonest?
