MIGRANTS are flocking to Britain at a rate of one a minute, according to shock new figures
Official statistics show more than 518,000 people moved to the UK last year ? an average of more than 1,400 every day.
The annual number of people granted British citizenship also rose by almost 60% between 2008 and 2009.
Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage quoted the figures as he attacked the three main parties for their ?dishonest? attitudes towards immigration.
He said: ?It is not racist to talk about immigration from a non-racial and non-sectarian perspective.
?But the figures quoted refer to non-EU immigration and the main parties are all signed up.
?We have a total open-door policy to an unlimited number of people coming to this country from eastern Europe.?

Well look at the other perspective for this problem, the last figures I have seen are that there was 400,000 emmigrating per year (2006), and due to increase each year.

So its not as bad as Mr Farage likes to point out, or the daily mail would have you believe.

Also those figures (emmigration figures) dont take into account casual workers who go to work abroad for the summer, either in the tourism and leisure industries, or young people having a working travel break. Immigration figures take into account casual workers who come to this country to work, unlike emmigration figuers.

I would guess so... I work in the constrution industry in Liverpool and I know there is plenty of jobs out there.

A lot of companies are using agency workers these days because they don't have to pay them. sick pay, pension etc.
Employers would rather take a Polish worker on and pay him ?7 an hour rather than a skilled local worker.

It depends on the client and what they want with regards to local employment. Unfortunately it is a true fact that you can get a worker from eastern europe at a cheaper rate than a local worker and get the same quality.

If you where the client and creating a new housing or office complex you would want it for the cheapest you can get it, as they want to maximise profit. So its the clients you need to change. They are driven so much by profit becuase they want ot offer consumers like you and me the cheapest most competitive prices.

And if they dont offer the cheapest we wont go there, so is it us the consumer that cause the problem by wanting the lowest price?

I just dont like it when you see immigration figures bandied about like that. If you want to control immigration (legal) you have to control emmigration, and we brits dont ever want that to happen. We cant have it both ways.

Also, every single person would agree the amount of illegal immigrants is ridiculous, but they are illegal, and when they are found, they are deported. Do not confuse illegal immigrants with assylum seekers.

Ianmac, you will find that a lot of British people are doing the same in Iraq as security agents, Nigeria on the rigs, UAE in construction, holiday reps in the balaerics.

Iam talking sense I have heard them calling british people names and telling them if they answer them back they will report them as racists They have left the city because they dont like it and the word you are looking for is victim ,victim of the labour party wanting to flood the country with foreign people hoping that in an election they will vote for them . The young have been brianwashed into this multicultural society and everywhere in the world where it has been done before after a few years wars break out between the ethnic groups I dont care as I will be long gone by then.
