Thinking of a holiday to china? Your already there!

189 Ayes to 47 Nays saw the Digital Economy Bill rocket through the commons last night and its now awaiting ascention by the Queen.

This is wierd because of all the 646 MP's less than 40 bothered to actualy show up to debate on your behalf.

So thanks to Labour and the Tories efforts you can now be disconnected from the internet for copyright infringment.
Instead of free speech the government has saw fit to allow censure of sites it deems "inapropriate."

The last bastion of freedom in the modern world has just fell for UK residents.

    189 to 47... ****.

How would it work if you use a 'clone' modem though?
They can't block your internet access if they don't know who you are can they.

I disagree with the fact that they are telling ISP's to block sites they deem unsuitable though. That is 'Big Brother' tactics and no-one should have the right to judge what people can view if they pay their monthly subscription. (Obviously they should already block things like child ~~~~ etc.)
I can see a lot of the big torrent sites being targeted. I also think that some perfectly legitimate sites could be blocked as well and they'll blame a 'technicality'.

The more I read about this, the more I want to smash that ~~~~ing rat-faced Feargal Sharkey in the kisser. He's absolutely gloating about this Bill being passed.

So your new CD of "The Wurzels" or whatever, make a 'back-up' and go to the pub and give some of your 'back ups' to 'your mates' and somebody will smack you round the face with a wet fish

      OR

You could make 'back ups' of your original CD and let your internet friends 'look after' it for you and somebody will smack your internet connection with a wet fish?
