Just been reading through this thread and there was some jokes that did make me smile but at the end of the day no matter if he was a nutter or not some little kids have lost a father and we should spare a thought for them.

It was clear to see that Moat needed mental help when he was inside and that didn't happen and finally HMP warned the police the day he was released that he was dangerous so what happened.

If they knew he was a danger why did they still release him?

Why wasn't he passed straight into a secure hospital?

the prison service cannot keep anyone if they have served their senrence. HMP often warn police about prisoners being released, not much police could have done, dont think anyone could have foreseen this.

and as for mental illness, he managed to organise a gun from inside. seemed to be menatally capable to me...
