A BRITISH firm has brewed the world's strongest beer ? at a staggering 55 per cent ABV.
The Belgian blonde ale, named The End of History, is also the world's most expensive tipple at ?500 for a single bottle.
The super-strength drink beats the previous record holder, called Sink The Bismarck, by a whopping 14 per cent.
The killer brew is made using an extreme freezing technique to squeeze out more water and make the beer stronger.
Hundreds of pints are needed to produce just one 330ml bottle as the process has to be repeated scores of time.
Makers BrewDog will only serve the ale in whisky sized glasses as it is so strong.
BrewDog MD James Watt said: "This is the beer to end all beers."
The company was slammed last year over a 32 per cent beer called Tactical Nuclear Penguin.
But a German brewery beat that with a 40 per cent strength variety.
The firm then hit back with Sink The Bismarck, and have spent several months perfecting the new brew.
The ale ? brewed in Fraserburgh, Scotland ? is infused with juniper berries and nettles from the Scottish highlands.
It is served from bottles made with stuffed animals, including stoats, squirrels and hares, dressed in made-to-measure eccentric outfits.
The first two bottles have been sold to a beer fan in Denmark.

Most mass-produced beers rarely top five and a half per cent alcohol by volume (ABV).
A typical Belgian ale is normally eight to nine per cent and made using traditional brewing techniques."We are on a mission to open as many people's eyes as possible."
The firm described the beer as "intentionally shocking" but claimed the sky-high alcohol content would help "cure the binge drinking culture, not fuel it".
Last year the brewer launched a low-alcohol brew named Nanny State that was just 1.1 per cent ABV.
