Nick Afanasiev's tongue measures an astonishing 3.5 inches from the middle of his closed top lip to the tip of his tongue.
This makes his tongue just 0.36 inches shorter than that of Briton Stephen Taylor.

Afanasiev, who was born in Moscow and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, shot to fame after videos of his extraordinary oral appendage became viral hits on YouTube.com, receiving more than one million hits.
'I knew it was long, I just didn't know it was one of the longest,' he said.
His tongue has even helped to kickstart his career - it landed him a brief appearance on Nickelodeon's hit series iCarly.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the female with the world's longest tongue is Annika Irmler - measuring 2.75 inches.
