Virgin Media UK Boost Broadband Upload Speed and Tightens Traffic Management

Cable giant Virgin Media UK has announced that it is boosting the internet upload speeds on all of its broadband ISP packages for FREE and introducing "smart" Traffic Management restrictions during peak times.

The biggest increase in speed will be seen by customers of VM's leading 50Mbps package, which currently offers upload speeds of up to just 1.5Mbps. Related customers will now be given more than three times that speed, pushing up to 5Mbps!

Well I'm not ~~~~in happy about this one.

I've only had the 50mb for 3 weeks and I only got it because it was uncapped...

Me personally I don't give a shit about upload speeds nut why do Vermin always move the goalposts??

Doesn't show anything about download speeds being affected though??

There wont be any throttling of the downstream of the 50mb service but on the upload. However they are now gonna be targetting usenet and other p2p networks.

I have found that virgin normally do this a few months before they raise the bar on the speeds and come out with a higher priced unlimited package.

Might be the case this time too/

Think your right about the increase on internet speeds, they are giving away upgrades from 10 meg to 20 meg atm. Does this signify an increase on the horizon of bb speeds?
