Erm i think thats a bit wrong saying ~~~~ the disabled. Its not there fault and are put in a difficult situation.

Everyone is capable of contributing in some way, Stephen Hawking is pretty well off considering he can move only a handfull of muscles.

Jean-Dominique Bauby could only BLINK one eye, he managed to write an entire book despite being compleely incapable of wiping his own ass!

Carl Brashear managed to get a gimped leg amputated and continued to dive in brass rigs, healthy people have trouble operating under the weight of those things but he had the gumption to do it irrespective of an amputation. A brass rig and the testicles to match!

Theres a long list of seriously disabled people who have gone on to become great sucesses, actively contrubute to their respective societies and inspire entire generations of people. I know several legitimately disabled people who actively work for a living, the last thing they give in to is hand outs and self pity.

The Disability Discrimination Act was put in place to safeguard everyones right to work, so theres no longer any real excuse for not doing something for a living.

is still widely ignored, and im sure quite a lot of the disabled would like a job, the benefits these peeps claim dla, ( disability living allowance ) is widely open to abuse ( aka piece of pish to scam ) i know loads of peeps who claim it and imo shouldnt get it.
