WikiLeaks Reveals 'Truth' Of Iraq War Deaths
Hundreds of thousands of classified US documents concerning the Iraq war have been published online - the biggest ever leak of classified military information.
The so-called "Iraq war logs" also suggest US commanders routinely ignored evidence of torture by Iraqi authorities.
In that material, the deaths of some of 109,000 people are documented including 66,000 civilians.
Working with Iraq Body Count, we have seen there are approximately 15,000 never previously documented cases of civilians who have been killed by violence in Iraq.
Seven years on, the public does not have a full account of the terrible human cost of this ongoing war to the Iraqi people.
Targeted assassinations, drive-by shootings, checkpoint killings - these are the small but relentless tragedies of this war that these logs reveal in unprecedented detail.
Some Iraqis have been attacked, killed and tortured and we don't know how many Iraqis have died whilst being held in British detention facilities.
Reports detail torture, executions and war crimes, detail how US authorities allegedly failed to investigate hundreds of reports of abuse, torture, rape and murder by Iraqi police and soldiers.
There were "numerous" reports of detainee abuse, describing prisoners being shackled, blindfolded and hung by wrists or ankles. Six such incidents ended with a detainee's apparent death.
IF OUR GOVERNMENT & OUR AMERICAN "FRIENDS" GOT NOTHING TO HIDE, WHY DIDN'T THEY RELEASE THIS INFORMATION?
THE LIES & COVER UP ABOUT THIS WAR CONTINUES AND THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE ARE NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!
