how much booze do you lose at home ?

Snakebite ... strange sups lurk in homes across Britain

BRITONS are storing a whopping 100million litres of forgotten novelty booze.
Odd tipples such as potato moonshine and bacon-flavoured vodka fill drinks cabinets, along with rarely slurped staples such as advocaat, ouzo, schnapps and Metaxa brandy.
Liqueur brand Glayva polled 3,000 people to come up with the findings.
They also learned 30 per cent of Brits hadn't cleaned out their drinks cabinet for more than five years - and more than half of those said the bottles gather dust as they NEVER touch them.

    Spirited away ... novelty booze

Almost two thirds of drinks stashed at home are more than five years old.
Of those that haven't been touched for years, 13 per cent are from trips to far-flung places including Mexico, Thailand and Japan.
Last night Peter Wallace, 27, from Birmingham said: "My family come from the West Indies and they're always sending me moonshine from there. I have to pretend I love it or they'll get offended - but they keep sending me more. I've got about 20 bottles gathering dust in my garage.
    "I could open a West Indian off-licence."
Jamie Chisholm, 28, from north London, said: "I bought a bottle of Snake Wine from Laos with snakes, lizards, scorpions and spiders in it - I'd had a few at the time.
"It says it cures baldness and helps sexual performance. Unfortunately I'm still single and still don't have any hair."
More than a third of the snubbed spirits was a gift.
People had no idea where a quarter of the stock came from.
Around half said the bottles remained half full and only came out at parties ... when they ran out of normal booze.
Divorcee Susanne Jefferies, 39, from Newcastle, bought a bottle of tequila with a worm in it during her honeymoon to Cancun in Mexico.
She said: "It's been in my drinks cupboard for six years. It's lasted a lot longer than my marriage did!"
Tia Evans, 23, from Manchester, said: "My nan has 30 or 40 bottles of booze in her house that she doesn't touch as she's teetotal. She hoards them just in case someone comes over and wants a drink.
"She has stuff from the Sixties and still buys bottles when there's a good offer on."
A spokesman for Glayva said: "It's all very well liking a vintage or two in your cupboard but Britain has tonnes of mouldy bottles and junk that just needs chucking out."
( hmmm send it to zaps house he will drink any owd shite )
