These documents are leaked after plans are put into place. So what damage is done is done beforehand. SO really no security is breached. Basically its just exposing what really goes on.

anyone who agrees with it is a fool and obviously doesnt care what will happen because of it.

it WILL cause death on this earth and it may happen to somone you know.

People DIE everyday. Be it war or ilnesses etc. What makes anyone think us knowing the truths of war will change the way things are done?

if this info was so highly sensitive then why is it so easy for an individual to make it accessable to every man and his dog ?
they obviously arent that worried,,i think maybe its got more to do with certain people in high places wanting this info out there than some whistleblower obtaining it for the good of mankind
whatever the reason behind it i dont think it makes much difference the fact we can look at it,,,just to add quickly i wouldnt trust julian whatever his name is as far as i could throw him and it wouldnt suprise me if he was a CIA puppet

The control of information is the consolidation of power

?I care not what puppet is placed on the throne of England to rule the Empire. The man who controls Britain?s money supply controls the British Empire and I control the British money supply.? ? Nathan Rothschild

i agree with him. if all these political w@nkers were less secretive the people may have more of a real say and wars might be less likely to happen.

I'm reminded of the saying/adage 'Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first try to deceive'
The truth should be out there and, if it were, there would be less of the secrecy and lies.
The Irish Government (the present incompetents-Fianna Fail) made it extremely hard for the ordinary citizen to access anything under the Freedom of Information Act and we now are beginning to see why.
Most Governments are elected by the people for to govern in the best interests of the people but that does not mandate them to ever feel that they are above the citizens and have a free hand.
Which brings me to another saying/adage 'Power corrupts-Absolute power corrupts absolutely'.

its naive to think it wont. relationships will change because of this, it will affect everything from trading to potential friendships across borders

im not taking away the fact that the people who said these things are twats, but thefacts are that the world works because of the relationships and trust people have, this is now broken. things will change because of this leak, how much only time will tell

The worlds a sh*thole anyway. Its all about power and who wants what. There will be another world war and when it does happen we will be way down on the list of survivors.

This has no effect on anything whatsoever. Goverment strategys and secret agency dictate what happens in war not some website. We are only seeing now paperwork which has been going on since the days ink was invented.

              SO nothings changes really.

                      ^THIS!

Take September 11th the majority of pilots where Saudi Arabians, through this we managed to get the Saudi king on our side and help with anti-terrorism.

Think about this for a second, an upper management Saudi HELPING THE WEST.
How many jihadi's will be unimpressed with this? certainly enough to overthrow the guy, putting in place someone far more radical and anti-western.

Yeah thanks wikileaks, people really needed the intel.

Then there's Iran, confirmed to be toying with enriching uranium and plutonium for "reactors" there's no real difference from reactor grade and "weapons" grade.
Leaked cables show what's going on in the surrounding regions and illustrate the anti Iran sentiment from them.

Iran gets upset and as they're used to playing the martyr in explosive style they realise there's nothing to prevent them unleashing thermonuclear war on the world. YAY! ITS OK! Some muppet in Podunk, Idaho has got his freedom of speech along with his radioactive potato crop.

There's a REASON things get redacted, I'm all for freedom of speech but the current method of wait till the dust settles down and then release documents into public domain makes way more sense than pouring petrol all over an already volatile situation.

Troops blowing up journalists from aircraft a few miles away, accurate death tolls, yeah release those, confidential documentation that could politically and physically endanger the lives of millions? not so much.

Not everything should be made public. I do not see that publishing these documents is for the public's greater good or moves us towards a more harmonious international community.

This is sort of like meeting your neighbor and smiling at them every morning. But then you always tell your wife that you think your neighbor is damn ugly. Wikileaks wants your neighbor to know that. They think it's for the greater good.

If anybodys life is at risk its Julian Assange he will have to hide as he has upset too many powerful people and there is already threats to assassinate him .
The swedes have put a warrant out for him for alleged rape, the swedes said last year he did not have a case to answer since these leaks they decided he have .

if we simplify the world down into a little town, each country is a family. who in that town has secrets? the criminal element has, the people who want to hide nefarious deeds have.
who should have secrets? maybe you could argue for some victims, but even they have a certain obligation to tell what they know so as to stop other people suffering in that village.
Secrets are bad. i know we all have them, but if you look within yourself is keeping them better for you, or for the community as a whole?
if all of us on this website kept our knowledge to ourselves we would all be walking around in the dark, we share what we know and it benefits us all as a whole.
i know im prolly oversimplifying but at the end of the day thats all we are now, a global village.
Fair dues to Wikileakdude, he's taking a lot of sh1t to keep us informed.

Information kept is a secret. When released it has to be worth the reason it was made a secret.
