l just copy and paste l havnt the answer
To convert British gallons to liters, multiply gallons by 4.54; to convert liters to British gallons, multiply liters by 0.22; hence, 4.54 liters make a British gallon.
<><><>
1 gallon [US, liquid] = 3.78541178 liters.
1 gallon [US, liquid] = 4.000 US quarts exactly.
<><><>
1 gallon [US, liquid] =
0.133681 ft3 and
128.000 fluid ounces and
0.003785 m3 and
3785.411 cm3 and
3785.411 ml
<><><>
1 liter = 0.2642 gallons
1 gallon = 3.785 liters
3.78 liters = 1 US Gallon
4.55 litres = 1 British gallon
Well Simply we can say
36 miles per gallon
36*2.2= 79.2km
1gallon = 3.7 lts
79.2km per gallon
i.e. 21.4km per ltrs

You also need to factor in the average wage etc in the US compared to the UK. At the end of the day I doubt that the cost of a litre of fuel in the US is really that much cheaper when you compare cost of 1 litre to the average wage in the US and 1 litre in the UK to the average wage in the UK.
It's all relative at the end of the day, the fact is that the UK government taxes all car drivers and like lemmings we all pay, and will continue to no matter how much we moan and jump up and down. No matter how many discussion threads are started.
The last time I recall the UK public refusing to pay and doing something about it was community charge....My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.
No good deed goes unpunished....

Drumming up cash ... where tax goes
MOTORISTS pay for their road use more than twice over in tax to the Government, The Sun can reveal.
Less than half the cash demanded by Whitehall from drivers gets ploughed back into road costs, leaving them subsidising the rest of Britain.
A total of ?30billion is paid annually in fuel and road tax.
But ministers last year spent just ?12billion on the road network, maintenance and off-setting emissions.
The TaxPayers' Alliance statistics add significant weight to The Sun's campaign to win a fair deal for drivers at the pumps.
We are calling on Chancellor George Osborne to freeze fuel duty or bring in a fuel stabiliser, fulfilling the Tories' election pledge.
More than 60,000 had signed our Keep It Down petition last night.
Calls ... George Osborne
Of the ?12.2billion drivers cost the state last year, ?9.1billion went on road-building and maintenance, with the social cost of greenhouse gas emissions at ?3.2billion.
Motorists' ?30.2billion bill was made up by ?24.6billion in fuel duty at pumps and ?5.6billion in Vehicle Excise Duty for tax discs.
That left the total excess paid by road users at ?17.9BILLION.
Director of the TaxPayers' Alliance Matthew Sinclair said: "These figures show that motorists are being unduly punished.
"It's time the Government stopped squeezing ordinary families who have to use their cars."
PM David Cameron has promised the issue of soaring oil prices will be addressed in the March 23 Budget.
And yesterday he revived a Coalition pledge to look at a special discount for truckers at the pumps.

I wouldn't mind paying the current price for a litre of fuel, if they scrapped road tax,
whether I drive 5000 miles or 50.000 mile I still pay the same amount for road tax, it would be a fairer system, because those that use the roads more will pay more.!retupmoc eht ni deppart m'I !pleHComment
