cheap satellite cards from other parts of Europe could become legal

A pub landlady has won her legal battle to show EPL games broadcast by other European country's on a Saturday afternoon,

she took the case to the European courts after being fined ?8k, for using the satellite equipment

A European court has said stopping people shopping around for the cheapest deals is a breach of European law.

although it has to go in front of the European judges later this year the Advocate General has found in favour of the landlady,
and judges usually go with the what the Advocate General recommends

It is a great News in UK (EU), I wish it would be the same in Singapore. EPL is much cheaper across a bridge (1Km long) in Malaysia than there (Singapore) monopolized by a GLC Telco.

Great news, nothing like a bit of competition to lower prices.

I am over the moon AG has found in Karen Murphies favour - it s very rare that the court rule against their findings. It then has to be handed down to the UK and then the House of Lords will again interpret that law. However, it is looking good for Mrs Murphy.

Sky have many people on the run and it is about time they got one in the eye. I wouldn't be celebrating over prices yet though, as this may just mean a big cartel for EPL european rights - it could remove funding from the EPL meaning the end of business for many clubs who rely on the TV revenue.

Noticed that S*Y News not once mentioned this on its reports and that other mag the S*n. How can they get rid of Mr gray & Mr keyes on the basis of sexism and still have a page 3! Hypocrites i say. I thought S*Y news was a great news channel but now my opinion has change as it seem to be biased toward mr "Illuminarti" how much do they want Murdoch and his secret police the conservative "don't worry mate" gov. Hope they all get stuffed, and the Prem League complain that the EU cannot use the judges to change broacasting rights deals in the EU and its a matter for the courts here to force Brussels? What? who bloody started this by dragging the landlady to court? dummy spit come to mind. Bunch of old hypocrites all of em. Root and branch was the message back in the euros finals when we did not make it, root and branch after last years pathetic world cup emm six years past still nothing! Power to the pleb on the street, great. Hit em in the pockets and lets have some saturday footie here in our own country, the rest of europe does so now lets have us the same Rip Off Britain.

Also noticed that sly didn't mention the landlady's success in the European courts. BBC24, only mentioned the report very very briefly.

Isn't it strange that when there's an opportunity to benefit from a service sold within the European community we're denied...

It goes to show that our own MPs / Parliament and government are only interested in supporting the business or 'rip off' Britain..
