well tomorrow we have the first qualifying session for the 2011 formula 1 world championship,thought i would start a thread to get qualifying predictions and race predictions
not the whole grid but maybe top 3 in both quali and race

Well F! was back in the racing today with the first race of the season.
Not much of a change from last season with Vettel showing the way and the rest in procession behind him jostling at times for position.
When is F1 racing going to go back to being a race based on driving skill and not a procession if cars driving round the track, health and safety and regulatory changes have spoilt it for me, bring back the old times and lets see a race.

you need a hell of a lot of skill to drive one of them machines
all of us were wrong with predictions,not completely but noone got it spot on,just watched the race bit boring to be honest,the first race normally throws up a few suprises,i guess petrov 3rd was a suprise,also just heard the two saubers were disqualified on a tech infringement,shame really as i thought it was a good finish for them
look forward to malaysia in 2 weeks

I used to find it a bit entertaining when i was younger and did used to watch a bit not so much now it seems it is all centred around a pitstop

Aye, I thought it was a bit boring.. was hoping the lack of experience with the back spoiler would catch a few out, especially at the start.. then I learned that they werent to be used until after the 2nd lap.. so that ~~~~ed up my 'who will be first lap leader' bets.
I am glad to see Hamilton and Maclaren back in with a chance, but just hope it aint a 4 horse race the whole season.
Bring on the rain I say.. is it Monsoon weather in Malaysia yet?

not normally monsoon weather for malaysia at this time of year although very humid
i agree the post box rear spoiler not being used until lap 2 is bolloks,,we need more things to mix it up for the viewers,,,i stopped watching f1 for a few years,,just got really bored with it,and believe me im a petrol head,,more excitement watching nascar,and they go round an oval track 200 times in a race
i too hope it dosent turn out to be a 4 horse race,,my mates alaways take the pish out of me for watching it as they say its a billion dollar industry that has nothing to do with cars,,i think there right really,,the cars around the track are there for a bit of excitement and the said car manufacturers get advertising etc but the real money goes on behind closed doors and its not motor industry related

No one seemed to pick Petrov in the top three, like they said in the commentary imagine if Kubica was driving one of the Lotus Renaults.

Do love the colour scheme on that one, I wasn't confused about which Lotus was which.

Only just spotted that the Saubers were disqualified. I thought P?rez did great for first time out.
