He's still the greatest player in the world imho, one game isn't going to change that.

I didn't say he wasn't. He still had good chances to score but Howard came up big. he did setup the goal. What the United States did good was stop Messi from shooting on his left foot. The United States might not win the word cup but we deserve respect form the top teams in the word

yea for sure the usa can beat anybody on their day but the usa dont and never will have a player with the mercurial skills of messi.
so what if he had an off day in a friendly.

The likes of Rooney & Gerrard have had an off year, but they are still lauded as world beaters..

Not saying that they aren't great players, but how many world class games have either of them had playing for England in the last few years?

I wouldn't say he had an off day he played better than anyone on either team. Messi just don't score for country. I have to say you can't say never and not many teams have a player like Messi.

So, I'm not sure what your point is then mate? Your US team are no mugs at all. You managed to snuff out most of the English players in the world cup. But it was a friendy the other night, I wouldn't look that much into it. Messi is still the best player in the world at the current time.

I don't think there's any doubt Messi is the best player in the World at the moment.
But he never seems to hit the same heights with Argentina as he does with Barca.
Lets be honest, he was pretty poor at the world cup.. not as poor as Rooney, Torres, Drogba and other so called world class players.. but still poor.
He's been compared to Maradona, but has a long way to go if he's going to emulate his (on-field) success.
After Messi tore Arsenal apart last year, Souness said he was the best player that he has EVER seen.. A bit over the top imo.
Personally i don't think he's even the best player this century.. that goes to Zizou.
But Messi has the potential to become even better than him.. whether he does or not is another thing.

Not to difficult to snuff out the English.

Like it or not with all the Female Hormones appearing in food and the massive population of then USA eventualy they will have enough effeminite people to make a decent football team and have the possibility of being unbeatable.

You only need to look at Scotland, Wales and Ireland compared to England. They've just not got the same amount of people playing to get the same standard of team. That said English Football wouldn't be the same if they got rid of the decent players from overseas. No wonder they play shi@ in major competitions they've rarely got a full team of English playing together to bond.

on a football note i think there was only one reason that Inter went through last year and won the CL

the little ash cloud that meant Barca had to drive from spain to italy a trip of over 600 miles

Inter flew in to barca for the replay

I know they have a nice coach but you cant tell me a 16-17 hour coach trip split over 2 days after a league game is good preperation for a Tuesday CL semi final in 2010 it may have been the norm in the 50's and 60's but it isnt now.
