    Golf

Well done to former Open champion Paul Lawrie from Aberdeen and Martin Laird from Glasgow on winning on the European and US tours yesterday...I watched from 1 o'clock till 11 last night with a little samba in between to see both scots win on both sides of the pond....both were down and out at one point but came back fighting...hope this is encouraging for all you golfers out there starting a new season.

yes well done to paul laurie hes had a long long wait for a tour victory- although i do believe he only won the open at carnoustie due to extraordinary circumstances. He is only half the golfer that mony and lyle were.

9 year wait I think for Paul for his 2nd euro title over and above his open title...lets hope that Laird can pull off some more in the states ....suppose you could say that your only as good as your last game eh!....oh and Lyle won last week too on the senior tour.....goanyersel

PAUL LAWRIE yesterday bagged his first Tour title in nine years then admitted he had feared he would never win again. The 1999 Open hero shot a final-day 70 to win the Andalucian Open by a stroke from Swede Johan Edfors.
